A Word From Our Pastor
St. Jude Parish has enjoyed a rich history of being a personal and family-oriented faith community for the south side of South Bend, with parish boundaries to include south of Donmoyer, east of Mayflower, west of SR331 and as far south as Roosevelt Road; a good-sized area, and some very lovely housing areas for our residents. We are proud that so many of our members have this feeling about our parish.
Along with our fine Pre-K through 8 school, smaller in size and therefore personal attention offered to students, we also have a very active Faith Formation Program, which provides ongoing spiritual growth opportunities for our members. Small faith-sharing groups have been encouraged and have enjoyed good participation for a number of years and have participated in programs such as Disciples in Mission, Arise, various Bible studies, multiple offerings by Fr. Robert Barron, and much more.
There are many other forms of parish ministry too, to which your involvement could provide wonderful personal rewards spiritually. We have one of the largest and most active St. Vincent de Paul conferences in the city, feeding and providing for the needs of the poor in our area. We have an active choir and music program to include all ages, ministry to the homebound, as well as opportunities to be involved in the school through mentor programs or other volunteer positions.
If you are considering a parish home due to a move to our area or if you would like to know more about the Catholic Faith and are considering membership in the Church, or if you would just like to visit, we heartily welcome you! We would love to have you join us and we feel certain that you would find our parish community as warm and inviting, respectful of the level of your desire to become involved.
In Christ,
Fr. John Delaney
