Write your words three times in your spelling journal. Once in print and the other two times in cursive. Add your words to your planner.

Please keep in your journal. Teacher will grade once we return.

Language Arts:

(10 minutes each = 20 minutes)

In writing journal: choose a new March prompt and write a good paragraph over that prompt. Please remember your paragraph should have 5 or more sentences.

On the next page of your journal: label it “common nouns” Go into your kitchen and create a list of 15 common nouns found in your kitchen.

Please keep in your journal. Teacher will grade once we return.

Handwriting:

(10 minutes)

Complete page 75 over the Holy Spirit.

Have a parent check it and circle a word that needs improvement. Put a star next to word that is written beautiful.

Reading:

(45 minutes)

The Hero Two Doors Down: Please read pages : 1-22

OR

Sonia Sotomayor: Please read pages 4-11.

Story Works Junior Magazine: read the article The Boy Who Couldn’t Smile pages 10-13. On a piece of loose leaf, answer the Think and Write found on the bottom of page 13.

Silent Read or get on epic.

Think and Write activity. Please have parent take a picture and email me this writing activity.

Math:

(15 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes = 60 minutes)

Make flashcards over your 3 and 4 tables.

Complete the first two pages in your math packet.

Get on edmentum for 25 minutes. (link on class page)

Have a parent take a picture of the first two pages of the math packet and include this in the email.

Religion:

(30 minutes)

Say a decade of the rosary together with another family member.

In your Religion book, read and complete pages 201-205.

Teacher will look at workbook pages once we return.

Social Studies:

(30 minutes)

Map skills:

Draw me a detailed map of your neighborhood on paper. Include a map key and compass rose. Please take your time and add color.

Please put map into your BEE folder and this will be collected once we return.

Science:

(30 minutes)

Watch the video on how to make video playdoh. Follow the instructions and have a parent or adult take pictures of you making and playing with playdoh. In your writing journal, write a response paragraph on how you made it and do you enjoy the activity.

Or

Find a recipe from online or in a cookbook. With supervision make that recipe and take pictures throughout the activity. In your writing journal write a response paragraph on how and what you made. Was it good, did your family enjoy it, and would you make it again?

Parent will email teacher pictures.

Reminder for Wednesday 18, 2020:

Parent will send in ONE email: the writing activity from Story Works Magazine, the first two pages of math packet, and pictures of science activity.

Quick Write: choose a new prompt and write about it. Please highlight your prompt from the list.

Adjectives: Create a list of 10 adjectives that describe your bedroom.

Both of these are completed in your writing journal and don’t forget to write a heading.

Please keep in your journal. Teacher will grade once we return.

Please complete pages 76-77 Have a parent check it once completed.

Teacher will check once we return.

Reading:

OR

In your Story Works magazine: continue to work on the article The Boy Who Couldn’t Smile. This time on loose leaf write out the Pause and Think questions and then answer each question in complete sentences using the question in your answer. Neatness counts!

Math:

(5 minutes, 15 minutes, 15 minutes, 25 minutes = 60 minutes)

Review/Practice your 3 and 4 table flashcards.

Go to multiplication.com and play some games that help review your times tables.

Complete pages 3 and 4 of your math packet.

Continue working on edmentum.

Parent will take a picture of pages 3 and 4 in math packet and email to teacher.

Religion:

Read pages 206-210 in your book. Complete the end of Chapter review on page 211.

Please tear this page out and place in your BEE folder.

Page 211 will go inside your BEE folder.

In your Story Works Junior Magazine: read the article Water Bottles: handy or harmful pages 26-27.

Create a poster on how we can care for our environment in our community.

Or-

Take an empty water bottle or two and create it into something new a useful…an art project, a game, a tool. Be creative.

Parent will take a picture of project and send it to teacher.

Parent will send in ONE email: Think and Pause question and answer page from magazine, pages 3 and 4 in math packet, picture of science/social studies activity.
