Congratulations to our St. Jude School Forensics Speech Team, led by Christine Schrader, for bringing home a trophy from the Stanley Clark Speech Meet last Saturday, October 27.  They won 3rd place out of all other middle schools in Indiana that brought much larger teams and many more years of competitive public speaking experience!
■  Sam Hanson won 7th place in Impromptu and 6th place in Poetry Interpretation
■  Brendan Foley won 6th place in both Impromptu and Humorous Interpretation

Congratulations to the St Jude School Forensics Speech Team for their successful speech competition on Saturday, October 26 at the Stanley Clark School.  Everyone placed in the top 4 of every event they entered in.  It was also the first competition for 7 out of the 11 teammates!

One week before Christmas, in special preparation for the feast, many Catholics begin praying the O Antiphons. They are so called because each one begins with an “O” invoking the coming of Christ by appropriate titles derived from the Old Testament prophecies.

This year St. Jude invites all youth from 2nd grade through high school to join us in a special ensemble leading music for 4 p.m. Mass on Christmas Eve. All youth in the age range, whether Catholic or from another tradition, are more than welcome to participate! Those in middle school and high school are encouraged to bring any instruments they might play as well.

St. Jude Music Ministry invites you to Violin Vespers at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12

Two professional string players are coming from Chicago to help us celebrate the great feast that closes the Christmas Season, the Baptism of the Lord. This concert is free to all, thanks to an anonymous sponsor. Free-will donations will be accepted to support the St. Jude School Music Ministry.

Please come and bring a friend!
As we look to the beginning of the New Year 2020, let us keep in mind that all the resolutions we list to “begin anew” can be summed up simply: love God with your whole heart, soul, mind and spirit and love your neighbor as yourself!

May this new year bring you “clear vision” to do God’s will and bring you closer to Him.

May you know His Goodness, Joy, Peace, Blessings and Light!
