During the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s, Americans shone the light of the Gospel on a dark history of slavery, segregation, and racial bigotry. The civil rights movement was an essentially religious movement, a call to awaken consciences.
Edge of Dreaming - Sunday, May 20 - St. Jude Church - 4 p.m.
What exactly is the good news of the Gospel? There's an old song that says: “Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got till it's gone.” The next Spiritual Film Club selection, “Edge of Dreaming” does just that. It tells a great story about a decent loving woman who is nonetheless completely secularized.
