This Tuesday, February 2, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. This is traditionally known as Candlemas. On this day, in some parishes, the Church blesses candles and holds a solemn procession. This is because we are commemorating the entrance of the Light of the World into the Temple at Jerusalem.
