Religion- Read Matthew 4:18-22

             -define the word vocation

             -list 5 examples of vocations

             -answer the question What do you think God is calling you to do?

Reading- Read selection 1 in the Space book and answer questions A and B.

              -use 5 of the highlighted words in sentences

              -do pages 14-15 in your handwriting book

              -silently read for 30 minutes

              -work on Happy Birthday Albert and McKerry O'Grid the Leprechaun Kid worksheets

Language Arts- find 5 verbs and 5 past tense verbs from selection 1

                       -do writing prompt form March 16

Math- Do 30 minutes of Edmentum

        -write multiplication and division facts for 2,3,4 (2x1=2   2/1=2)

         -find 3 objects in your house that have an acute angle

Social Studies- read pages 152-153, and 157

Science- Watch the video on fossils Bill Nye fossil video

 

Friday, March 20

Religion- define the word laity

             - list the different roles the laity plays in the church

             -draw an outline of your hand. On each finger write one way you can use your talents to bring                 peace and justice to the world

Reading- Do pages 25-26 in Handwriting book

             -write a summary of chapter 3 from selection 1 in the Space book

             - work on March "Tri"umph and Wearin O'Green worksheets

             - silently read for 30 minutes

             -read the attached poems by Shel Silverstein 

Language Arts- Do the writing prompt from March 17

                       - write 2 compound sentences from selection 1

Math- Do Edmentum for 30 minutes

        -write multiplication and division facts for 5,6,7

        -find 3 objects in your house that have an obtuse angle

Social Studies- finish Indiana newspaper week 18

Science- research a mold fossil and a trace fossil. Write a description and make a drawing of each

 

Monday, March 23

Religion- Go to Catholicsaints.org/saints and read about Saint Catherine of Sienna. Write a paragraph                   about how she is a model of faith.

Reading- Read the Dentist and the Crocodile and Daddy fell into the pond

             -Find a poem you like and print or write it

             -Read for 30 minutes

             -Read selection 2 in the space book and answer question A and B

Language Arts- Do the writing prompt from March 18

                       -find an example of a complex sentence from selection 2

Math- Do 30 minutes of Edmentum

        -write multiplication and division facts for 8,9,10

        -Find 3 objects in your house that have a right angle

Social Studies-read pages 154-156 and answer questions 1-4 on page 156

Science-research a cast fossil and a true form fossil. Write a description and make a drawing

 

Wednesday, March 25

Religion-Read in your Bible Luke 1:26-38. Write a paragraph about how Mary is a model of faith.

Reading-Work on and finish book report

             -continue to work on worksheets

             -Read for 30 minutes

             -In selection 2 in space book what is the main idea of chapter 1. List text evidence to support                  your main idea.

Language Arts- write a narrative story about the best day of your life

Math- Do 30 minutes of Edmentum

        -write multiplication and division facts for 11,12

         -write 3 number stories that use division. Include an equation with answer

Social Studies- read pages 160-161 and answer the question on page 161.

                       -write a definition for the yellow highlighted words

Science-Based on your research make an example of 2 of the fossils. You can use whatever materials                you can find.

 

Friday, March 27

Religion- Pray the rosary with your family

Reading-read for 30 minutes

             -do handwriting pages 33-34

             -research and find a short biography of Shel Silverstein. Write 4 interesting things you learned                about him.

Language Arts-edit your narrative story

                        -find 5 adjectives from selection 2 in space book

Math- Do 30 minutes of Edmentum

        -work on the Grand Canyon Adventure problem solving worksheets

Social Studies- read pages 162-163 and answer the question on page 163. 

                       -write a definition for the yellow highlighted words

Science-find and read an article about fossils. Write down 2 things you learned from the article

 

Monday, March 30

Religion- write a definition for Magisterium and Precepts of the Church

             -make a chart of the 5 precepts of the Church

Reading-read selection 3 in space book and answer question A and B.

             - make flash cards for all  the yellow highlighted words

             -Do handwriting pages 36-37

            -read for 30 minutes

Language Arts- do writing prompt from March 19

                       - find 5 prepositional phrases from selection 3

Math- Do 30 minutes of Edmentum

         -make a chart that will convert tons to pounds. Include at least 5 problems in your chart.

         -measure a box, a book, and a pillow to find the area

Social Studies- read pages 164-165 and answer questions 1-5 on page 165.

                       - write a definition for the yellow highlighted words

Science-Make a canyon experiment. (This can be worked on over 2 days)

             -Directions for the experiment

                1. cut one side off of a half gallon milk carton and lay it on its side

                2. fill the carton half way with 4 different colors of sand

                3. prop the side of the carton opposite the spout up with a book

                4. Place the spout end over a cake pan

                5. fill a 2 liter bottle with water. Slowly pour the water into the raised end of the carton. The                          water should begin flowing out the spout. This represents a river.

                6. continue to raise the high end of the carton by adding another book. Continue to slowly                          pour the water.

               -answer the following questions

                  1. How does the appearance of the "land" change?

                   2. Based on your observations how was the Grand Canyon formed?

Wednesday, April 1

Religion- list ways you as a 4th grade student can follow the precepts of the church

             - go to catholicsaints.org/saints to read about Saint Mary Magdalen Postel

Reading- read for 30 minutes

              - do handwriting pages 38-39

              -read selection 4 in space book and answer questions A and B

Language Arts- write a persuasive letter to the head zookeeper to bring a new animal to the zoo

Math- do 30 minutes of Edmentum

         -write 3 number stories that use fractions. Include an equation with a solution

         - play a game of top-it where you create 3 digit numbers

Social Studies-write a journal entry from an escaping slave using the Underground Railroad.

Science-continue working on the canyon experiment

 

Friday, April 3

Religion- Pray a rosary with your family

Reading- read for 30 minutes

             - write a summary of chapter 2 in selection 4 of the space book

             -tell a family member which story in the space book was your favorite and why

Language Arts- edit your letter checking for strong reasons

Math- Do 30 minutes of Edmentum

        -play a game of memory matching a multiplication fact to the answer

Social Studies- use your definitions of the yellow highlighted words to write a summary of the changes                           in Indiana.

Science- find and read an article about how the Grand Canyon formed. How does your experiment                       compare to the article?

March book report is on a Mystery book. It needs to be a chapter book that is at least 80 pages long. The report will be due on March 31.
