Students may bring in a birthday treat on his/her birthday or a day that is close. If your child has a summer birthday we can celebrate on the 1/2 birthday. Let me know what day you would like to send something in. Please remember no pop or colored juice to drink. Also, napkins are helpful when you send in your treat. Thanks!

Greetings First Grade Parents and Friends!!

I hope this post to my website finds everyone healthy and happy! Please bear with me as I navigate this new style of teaching. It will not be without flaws, but I hope to continue to teach your child to the best of my abilities at this time. I will be emailing parents with links to the math games I am assigning. I'm sorry if some of the papers scanned in are upside down. I am learning how to use all of this technolog, too. :)  I will be checking my email 3-4 times per day during our shut down. Do not hesitate to get in touch with me with any questions or concerns. If I can't help, I will find someone who can. As of right now our E-learning days will begin on Wednesday 3/18/20. There will be new activities and assignments posted to be completed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until spring break. Of course the weekends and off days can also be used to complete the work. My hope is to give assignments that the students are used to and some fun activities to be done as a family. The following supplies will be helpful to complete the work:

Lined Paper (Feel free to copy the paper I sent home in the pink folder.), Pencils, Markers, Crayons, Scissors, Glue sticks, Dice, Deck of Cards

Our next project will be coming home soon. It is a simple project about US Symbols. Let me know if the directions are unclear. Keep in mind this is a first grade report and so it should be simple. Your guidance will be needed on this.

A list of prayers have been sent home. Please help your child learn these if they don't already. They will be tested and recorded on the report card throughout the year. Thanks for your help!

March reading logs are due Tuesday, March 31st or Wednesday, April 1st. Remember reading logs must be turned in each month to receive the prize at the end of the year.

Our math program Everyday Math sometimes asks students to bring in change (pennies, nickels, etc.) on the bottom of some of the homework. Please do not send in any money. We will use the plastic money in the classroom.

On Thursday, your child will be bringing home a plastic pink homework folder. Please review the graded pages and let me know if you have any questions about them. Return the folder the next day.

Please make sure your child's name is on the homework each night.

Please remember to send a healthy  snack daily. Some good choices are fruits and vegetables, cheese and crackers, graham crackers, etc. Please do not send candy or chips.  We work really hard all morning and need "brain food."  It really is a long morning when we don't eat until noon.

That's all for now. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me with any questions or concerns.

  Have a great week!

Please note that I am adding assignments for new days above each other for easier navigation. I plan to leave all assignments up unless I can no longer do so.
