Baptismal Prep

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit , and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.  -Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213

Process:

1) Please contact our secretary in the parish office. She will provide you with the necessary forms and information for setting up your child's baptism into the Catholic Church.

Every child who is born is a gift of joy and of hope, and every child who is baptized
is a miracle of the faith and a feast for the family of God.  -Pope Francis

2) Register with our Director of Faith Formation for Prebaptismal Catechesis. The course explores the Church's rich sacramental understanding of Baptism and and the strong parental role involved assisting baptized children to make a serious, lifelong commitment to the imitation of Christ in the Catholic faith. It is held four times per year, as announced, from time to time, in the parish bulletin.

3) Prior to setting the date for your child's Baptism, our parish requires you to have all your paperwork turned in to our secretary and to attend a scheduled session.

For  information about the next scheduled session, please contact Heather DeLucenay, Director of Faith Formation at (574) 291-0570, Ext. 308.
